Cecilia Olliveira is an investigative journalist who focuses on drug and arms trafficking and violence and the founder and Executive Director of Instituto Fogo Cruzado, a data journalism organization with a staff of 32 that tracks armed violence. She is a Shuttleworth Foundation Fellow and a Director of the Brazilian Association for Investigative Journalism (Abraji). She was a finalist for Reporters Without Borders’ 2020 Press Award for Impact, which celebrates intrepid and courageous voices in global media. Cecilia sits on the boards of Transparência Brasil, Agência Pública, Data Privacy Brasil, Instituto HUB, and Coletivo Papo Reto. She is also a co-founder of The Intercept Brasil and a regular contributor who led multiple award-winning investigations.
