Vanessa Oliveira é jornalista, doutora em Ciências Humanas e Sociais pela Paris VIII e UFABC, respectivamente, e mestre em estudos latino-americanos pelo IHEAL, Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris III. É professora de jornalismo na Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. É latino-americanista com foco em estudos cubanos. Foi correspondente em Havana para a rádio pública francesa RFI. Sua pesquisa gira em torno de big tech, América Latina, relações de gênero e raça. Ela foi finalista do Prêmio Jabuti em 2021 por co-organizar o livro De Bala em Prosa: Vozes da resistência ao genocídio negro (Editora Elefante, 2020).
