Camila is an UK-Colombian international lawyer based at Doughty Street Barristers Chambers. She specialises in protecting the rights of migrants, indigenous peoples, campesino communities and victims of modern slavery and other abuses. She has acted in interventions before the Colombian Constitutional Court and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in cases involving indigenous groups and mining companies; reported on landless communities in Honduras and Guatemala and on Nepal’s transitional justice; provided observations to the The Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACtHR) on the climate emergency; advised a UN Special Rapporteur, and regularly challenges migrant detention in the UK. She serves on the London Latin Village CBS and Bar Human Rights Committee.
