Frederico Lyra

Frederico Lyra de Carvalho is a musicologist and philosopher. His PhD focused on the idea of improvisation, trying to think jazz through Theodor Adorno’s negative dialectics. His research interests revolve around Adorno, the Frankfurt School and the Brazilian tradition of critical theory. He is also part of the editorial committee of the journals Passages de Paris, Sinal de Menos and Jaggernaut, and he is a member of the Autres Brésils association. With a post-doctorate from São Paulo University, he currently teaches at the Université d’Amiens.
