Vanessa Oliveira

Vanessa Oliveira is a journalist, with a PhD in Human and Social Sciences from Paris VIII and UFABC, respectively, and an MA in Latin-American studies from IHEAL, Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris III. She is a journalism professor at the Mackenzie Presbyterian University. She is a latin-americanist with a focus on Cuban studies. She was a correspondent in Havana for the French public radio, RFI. Her research revolves around big tech, Latin America, gender and race relations. She was a finalist of the Jabuti Award in 2021 for the co-organisation of the book De Bala em Prosa: Vozes da resistência ao genocídio negro (Editora Elefante, 2020).
