Vivek Chibber is Professor of Sociology at New York University and editor of Catalyst: A Journal of Theory and Strategy. He is the author of several books, including The Class Matrix: Social Theory after the Cultural Turn (Harvard: 2022), Confronting Capitalism: How the World Works and How to Change it (Verso: 2022), Postcolonial Theory and the Spectre of Capital (Verso, 2013), and Locked in Place: State-Building and Late Industrialisation in India (Princeton: 2003). He works on social theory, economic development, class theory, political economy and historical sociology.
