Anna Raposo de Mello

Anna is a researcher and project coordinator at Alameda. She holds a joint PhD in International Relations from King’s College London and the University of São Paulo. Her most recent research examines political discourse on social media and its implications for politics, with a particular focus on the relationship between digital politicisation, contemporary authoritarianism and rising right-wing extremism.
She has also contributed to projects on antidemocratic politics, multilateralism, international financial institutions, and U.S.–Brazil relations. Before pursuing academic research, Anna worked as a journalist for ten years. Her broader interests include digital politics, technology, social epistemology, and media studies.
