Sobre o Instituto Alameda
Alameda is an international institute established in response to the catastrophic threats facing humanity today, including ecological collapse, large-scale war, and deepening social and economic disintegration.
Working with an international network of researchers, intellectuals, activists, practitioners, and grassroots organisations, we conduct research and analysis that contributes to the construction of pathways towards a more favourable future. Our work is grounded in the belief that responding to global crises requires shared knowledge, solidarity, and collective action across borders.
With an institutional presence in Brazil and the United Kingdom, Alameda explores the structural causes of contemporary threats and the political, social, and economic transformations needed to address them. We are particularly committed to promoting internationalism from the periphery, connecting ideas, experiences, and struggles in the Global South with those in the North.
In this video, Juliano Fiori, Director of Alameda, introduces the institute’s mission, the ideas that inspired its creation, and the research agenda that guides our work. He also presents our four main areas of research:
- Ecological Transition
- New Political Formation
- Development and De-development
- Justice and Order
Through articles, reports, books, podcasts, videos, and public events, Alameda contributes to new approaches in policy and political strategy while helping to shape public debate on some of the most pressing challenges of our time.
